The late televangelist Aamir Liaquat Hussain's ex-wife, actor Syeda Tuba Anwar, has spoken out against violence against women and the victimisation it frequently leads to. In an interview, she talked about her personal experiences and how the Noor Mukadam case affected her because she was going through a "similar moment."
TV anchor Mathira expressed her disapproval of the comparison Tuba made between herself and Noor in a comment made in response to a statement from her interview that was posted under the article of a local magazine. Mathira wrote to Tuba and said, "Aamir Bhai didn't kill you; he provided you a career and other things. Never compare." Mathira prayed for safety for "every female" before calling Tuba's comments "attention-seeking bullsh*t."
Before responding to her comment, Tuba stated that she had made an effort to speak with Mathira privately in an effort to resolve the issue. Tuba's call was "cut," so she made the choice to react in a public setting.
Have you seen and read the interview before making such a crude and uninformed decision? I'm sure you haven't, Tuba said, before addressing the issue head-on. She followed up with an explanation and said that her "real statement had been lost in translation," maybe hinting that she hadn't meant to say what the statement appeared to indicate.
